Windsor Dukes vs Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers

Final Score 33-8 for Windsor. Well the pundits were true, the Dukes are truly unbeateable in AA. Undefeated in more than 2 years, Coach Schuman is turning his Dukes into a local legend, simply untouchable. It's always tough to lose the Championship game, knowing you were so close. But the Panthers have nothing to be ashamed of, they played their hearts out, the better team won today.

The game was close for about the first quarter and a half. The Panthers actually got into the redzone early with a 50 yd strike from Willetts to Deildale. But the next play resulted in a Warbinek fumble. The key play in the game was a 4th down pass from Duke QB Palmer to Watt for 30 yds and the first TD. The Panthers obviously looked at game film of the Sands game to see how to shut down Ephard, and they executed that part quite well. What they didn't do was watch the 2nd half of that game and saw what Palmer and Watts could do.

The MVP of the game would be Watt. He had 4 TD catches and made some great defensive plays as well. For the Panthers, Warbinek needs to be mentioned. The kid was injured in the first half but came back and left it all out on the field. He was obviously still hurting but pressed on knowing this was the last time he would play for his High School team and was determined to put a score on the board, and he did that.

Battle of the last 2 undefeated teams left in AA, one of these fine teams will be go undefeated throughout with the Subway Bowl in hand. The Dukes are the obvious favorite here, not having lost a game in the past 2 seasons. The 2 games that have tested them to the limit was Sands and AAA Centennial, both passed so the Dukes are battle tested. Lord Tweedsmuir started strong and hasn't looked back, going 10-0 themselves. The now famour Four Horsemen look to exercise their demons by winning the Championship they so covet. Gabe can be stopped, we saw how Sands did it earlier in the year by pinching him in. Willetts isn't invincible, we saw that last week where he fumbled twice in the redzone. I'm giving the Dukes the edge here, I don't think the Panthers have enough team speed on defense to stop Gabe from running around the ends.

Windsor Offense: Gabe will play the whole game this time. The O-line has been dominate and has allowed Gabe to get get into the open field along the sidelines. Once he has daylight, forget about it, 6 pts. The Dukes haven't had to pass much this season, but when they have, they've been decent. Look for the Dukes to go to the short slants inside should the Panthers be successful in stopping Gabe.

Windsor Defense: The Dukes limited the Mt Doug Rams to only a handful of 1st downs the whole game. The secondary coverage will be tested again as Willetts will be looking for Deildale often. The D-line has enough speed to put pressure on Willetts, will also need to contain him in the pocket. The goal for the Dukes will be to keep the Panthers on the ground and limiting Warbinek to small gains.

LT Offense: This is what they've been waiting for, one last shot to win the Championship before their High School experience is over (Seniors that is). Willetts stood the test vs Sands last week, but looked vulnerable in the process. Got plenty of support from his buddies Deildale and Warbinek though. Don't count out the Panthers should they go down early, they have the athletes to make the comeback.

LT Defense: With the exception of a few missed tackles and a great catch by Sands in the endzone, the Panther defense got the job done. Gabe and Co. will bring about a whole new challenge, specifically, to bust through the Dukes' O-line and contain Gabe. In the end, it may come down to Willetts at Safety to make the big play to stop Gabe before he hits the endzone.
