Windsor Dukes vs Mt Doug Rams

Final Score 35-0 for Windsor. Wasn't at the game, but sounded like a yawner. If the Dukes had enough speed to beat AAA Cent, then certainly they would be good enough to shutout Mt Doug and that's exactly what they did. The Dukes move on to what should be another undefeated season and their 2nd AA Championship in a row. The Rams simply ran into an unstoppable team en route to history. Should have a couple of Pepsi All-stars to show for.


Of all 4 semifinal matchups this weekend, this one is the most lopsided. Windsor's undefeated streak is well into the teens going back to last season, and includes wins over a few top AAA teams in the process. In AA competition, the Dukes have simply dominated, nobody has even come close. On the other side of the ball, the Mt Doug Rams have transitioned from bottom of the pack AAA team to Top 4 AA team. The Rams have played very well so far this season, and in any other season could win it all. The bottom line here, is that Windsor is simply too fast, too strong, and too disciplined to lose this game en route to defend their title.

Windsor Offense: The offense has been so good all season that the Dukes have shutdown All-Star RB Gabe Ephard at halftime in most games. We all know how good the O-line has been. So what does the Windsor Offense have to do to win this game?? Nothing, just play the way they've been playing. Ephard should be able to follow his blocks to big gains, nothing will change here.

Windsor Defense:Ephard will need to stay sharp at his CB/S position as the Rams will go deep once they are down. The Dukes have done well covering the pass all season and should prevent the big play offense of the Rams.

Mt Doug Offense: We saw the versatility of this offense last weekend when QB Alek Smith and R Brendan Neary torched the Ballenas secondary. Once the Dukes get the lead, 1 TD or more, expect the Rams to go vertical.

Mt Doug Defense:Was unable to stop Andrushko last weekend. With superior blocking, will be an even tougher test to stop Ephard this weekend. Need to match the speed and size on the line to have a remote chance.
