Final Score 29-21 for LT. Should've been over in the 3rd quarter but a Justin Kardash injury that required an Ambulance trip killed the LT momentum. The long layoff seemed to give Sands a jump in their step including a long run and huge turnover in the 4th. LT QB Willetts found his favorite target Deildale time and time again throughout the game, but almost lost the game with a fumble on the Sands 20 yard line that was recovered for a TD, 29-21 with 5 min left. But LT managed to calm themselves down and ran the clock out for the win. A big one no doubt, 1 day to celebrate and then it's back to the practice field to prepare for the biggest game of their lives vs Windsor at BC Place next week. For Sands, lots and lots of questions lay ahead. Should be the favorites for Subway Bowl next year, pending the outcome of some "unknowns".


This game could be renamed Cloverdale Minor Football vs North Delta Minor Football. Both teams want this game for different reasons. LT is a team made up of a core group of Seniors (products of CMF) that have longed for a Provincial Championship, their last chance to win it all. Sands, the first-year program, is a group of mostly Juniors (products of NDMF and SDMF) that are eager to prove everyone wrong. LT is undefeated, Sands has lost only 1 game to Windsor, a game they led at halftime. With a trip to the Finals on the line, I expect a hard-fought wire-to-wire game with LT barely edging out Sands.

LT Offense: AA MVP candidate QB Jordan Willetts looks to lead his team to the promise land. Wasn't sharp last week, but his teammates picked up the slack. The game will come down to whether Willetts can keep the defense guessing, he is their ultimate weapon. LT would prefer a high scoring game as the LT offense has the ability to score TDs in bunches.

LT Defense: Defense has been soft in the last couple of playoff games. Secondary really needs to step up as Sands can put up points in a hurry, we saw that last week when they came back and beat Barsby. Willetts is great football instincts and will be once again counted on in the secondary to make plays. Run defense has been solid all season.

Sands Offense: The offense came alive in a big way last weekend, reeling off 20+ points to beat Barsby. Coach Ueyeama made the adjustment after halftime after Barsby sent 9 in the box. LT won't make that same mistake.

Sands Defense:Strength vs Strength. The Scorpions have the best Defense in AA, LT has the best Offense. The Defense needs to contain Willetts and force him to turnover the ball. The Sands Defense is skilled and athletic enough to win it for them here. The Scorpions will look to keep the score low and grind out a defensive victory.
