Sands Scorpions vs North Surrey Spartans

Thu, Sep. 1 3:30P at North Surrey

The Fanatic spread line:

Sands-14 at NS+14 Over/Under 28

Final Score 47-0 for Sands. I guess there goes my prediction of O/U 28. Hype!! What hype... Sands is looking good, #7 ranking looks justified, could move up if LT stinks the joint at Barsby.

Both are young and inexperienced. Scorpions feature accomplished Coach Ron Ueyama and a successful group of community football veterans, should be enough to overpower a younger and more inexperienced Spartan squad.

Let's see if Sands is worth the hype. If the Sands players start believing the hype surrounding them and do not come to play, North Surrey will take advantage. Sands absolutely must play like they have something to prove.

Too bad I'll be at work, then football practice. As you mentioned, I'd like to see if the Scorpions are as good as people say they will be.

I don't know if it will be a blowout but I think North Surrey will live up to their hype of being not good. Wait until the next week to see if Sands is any good.

How good can they be there only a first year team. I dont think they got anything to prove there a first year team. I think Hugh Boyd should be higher then sands. One thing Sands has going for them is they havvent talked a lot of trash like there rivals John Barsby

Don't forget the Ueyama factor. Coach has been doing this for 30 freakin years.

reason why I capped it with a O/U of 28 is because it's first game of the season, new team, looking to find it's offense. The Defenses will probably looker sharper.

Good for Sands. But in the next few weeks we'll get a more clear picture of where they stand among the better teams in AA as they play Oroville (1A Washington), Windsor, and Carson Graham. After those games Sands will have a good idea as to what kind of team they have.

Depending on which players are the "ineligible" players, Sands may still be OK.

Bigger question is, if the allegations of "recruiting" are true, in addition to the players being ineligible, Coach U could be gone. I'm not sure how Football works, but in Basketball, it's a 1 year suspension for a recruiting violation.

Get over the recruiting talk. Let the kids play.

Kids won't be playing so well if they don't have a coach...

Thanks for the insight from your sight but speculationg about a coach who is respected as much as Ron Uyeyama is a joke. Do us a favor and don't make assumptions about coaches, especially the one you are mentioning. You obviously don't know the man or else you wouldn't put such rediculous speculation.

Read more closely, I said "IF".

I'm not close enough to the situation to know whether the allegations are true. Right now, that is all they are, "allegations".

Also, I'm speculating about what would happen to "a coach", "any coach" that is found guilty of recruiting, most likely a 1 year suspension. I did not say anything positive or negative about Coach U.
