Week 4 in Review

First off, I want to get something straight. Whatever I say here is my opinion of the facts as I see and hear them. Will my opinions sometimes be controversial, biased, or seen as "in bad taste"?? Yes, absolutely. This is NOT a newspaper journal, TV/Radio broadcast, or magazine article, I don't HAVE to be PC here, this is an Internet blog. If you want to rebut my opinion, by all means, send me your take. The only comments I delete are spam, and derogatory of nature, everything else stays on.

OK, done with my rant, on to the more important stuff...

This was the final week of pre-season for many teams as they get ready for the "Real Thing" starting next week. AAA game of the week in Abbotsford turned out to be a 1st round TKO by WJ Mouat striking at will from the first bell. Coach Jaunzemis and the boys must've had 1 hell of a long ride back to the Island after the beating they received, their first of the season. In other AAA action, only a called in bomb threat could've stopped Centennial from showing their blinding speed again by zipping past an easy Hansen opponent (yes there was actually a bomb threat, and yes it was a hoax by some jackass kids). New West and Salmon Arm continue their meteoric rise up the rankings with impressive wins, expect to hear alot more from them in the regular season.

In AA, some key regular season matchups are making the playoff picture starting to come into focus. Ballenas and Mt Doug have blasted out of gates with 2-0 regular season starts. AA game of the week pitted Mt Doug and Frank Hurt in a crucial conference matchup, Mt Doug made quick work of Hurt and stays ahead in the standings in the process. Ballenas defeated Moscrop handily and has the upper hand in their conference as well.

As mentioned below, Quesnel Correlieu has folded as expected. So that means all 4 Okanagan teams will automatically be in the playoffs, the seeding to be determined based on regular season play. Fair or unfair, that's the way it is.

Most Dominate Performances in Week 4: Cent, WJM, Salmon Arm, LT, Windsor
Biggest Surprises of Week 4: Salmon Arm, Hugh Boyd, Rutland
Biggest Letdowns of Week 4: Burnaby Central, Pinetree

AAA and AA MVPs for both Offense and Defense are forthcoming as well as the Game of the Week matchups. AAA and AA rankings have been updated.
