Week 5 AA Power Rankings

Last updated Sep 25, 2005 Week 5

Top 6 stay the same. Moved Vanier and Mission up 2 spots, Boyd down 1 and Hurt down 3. Everything else is the same. Some great regular season matchups this coming week. Stay tuned for more great football action.

1. (1) Windsor Dukes (1-0) Exhibition (3-0)
- Completed road trip to Island with the expected easy win over Gulf Islands. Local game vs Howe Sound up next, another sleepwalk.

2. (2) Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers (1-0) Exhibition (3-0)
- Didn't allow a score vs Howe Sound, looking for more of the same vs N Surrey this week.

3. (3) Sands Scorpions (0-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- Didn't rollover Carson, but still a solid win. Should be an easier game this week hosting Nanaimo.

4. (4) Mt. Douglas Rams (2-0) Exhibition (1-1)
- Puts the Hurt on the Hurt in AA Game of the week. Has beat Hurt and Vanier so far in regular season, now looking out for Conference #1 seed LT.

5. (5) John Barsby Bulldogs (0-0) Exhibition (2-2)
- Rout over AAA Pinetree was pleasant surprise. Should beat newcomer Seaquam in first regular season game this week.

6. (6) Ballenas Whalers (2-0) Exhibition (0-2)
- On their way to the playoffs with victory over Moscrop, will finish 2nd in the conference now. Gulf Islands up next week, add another W for the Whalers.

7. (8) Hugh Boyd Trojans (0-0) Exhibition (1-3)
- Beat the Yanks from Auburn, time to forget the other pre-season losses, Aldergrove is coming up next, should be an easy win for once this season.

8. (9) G.P. Vanier Towhees (1-1) Exhibition (1-1)
- Easy win over Isfield doesn't mean much, Mission game this week is huge. Must win for playoff positioning.

9. (10) Mission Roadrunners (1-0) Exhibition (2-0)
- Win over N Surrey was nice, needs the Vanier game to be true contender.

10. (7) Frank Hurt Hornets (1-1) Exhibition (2-0)
- Tough to rank them in top 10 with lopsided loss to Mt Doug. Week off to prepare for Mission, game is huge and will determine playoff fate for either team.

11. (11) Clarence Fulton Maroons (1-0) Exhibition (0-2)
- week off due to Quesnel folding, face OKM on Wed and Valleyview on Sat, clear favorite in that game. Is #1 in Okanagan conference right now.

12. (12) Westsyde Blue Wave (1-1) Exhibition (0-0)
- Rolls over Valleyview easily, #2 in Okanagan conference right now. Faces OKM on Sat, favored to win.

13. (13) Okanagan Mission Huskies (0-0) Exhibition (1-2)
- Had week off. Due to scheduling quirk, plays 2 games in 1 week, first up is Fulton, next is Westsyde. Fatigue and injuries will be a factor, expected to lose both.

14. (14) Valleyview Vikings (0-1) Exhibition (0-2)
- Players weren't actually suspended, didn't make a difference in loss to Westsyde. Could catch a break in Sat game vs Fulton (their 2nd game in 1 week), and with possibly OKM losing both their games this week.

15. (15) Moscrop Panthers (1-1) Exhibition (0-2)
- Couldn't solve Andrushko in loss to Ballenas, a decent Sentinel team up next, need a win or playoffs could be slipping away.

16. (16) Seaquam Seahawks (0-0) Exhibition (1-2)
- Got wholloped by North Delta, need to put that game behind them. Barsby game is biggest so far of the season for the Seahawks.

17. (17) Sentinel Spartans (0-1) Exhibition (1-1)
- Didn't expect much vs AAA West Van. Could surprise Moscrop this week, a win would put the playoffs clear in view.

18. (18) Gulf Islands Scorpions (0-0) Exhibition (1-1)
- Flattened by Windsor as expected. Looking for respect vs Ballenas this week.

19. (19) Nanaimo District Islanders (0-0) Exhibition (1-3)
- Lost another close one to AAA Cowichan. Looking to score at least a TD vs Sands this week.

20. (20) North Surrey Spartans (0-2) Exhibition (0-2)
- Losing big again, this time to Mission. Should be much better as Surrey has a lot of good football talent. LT will steamroll over N Surrey this week.

21. (21) Mark Isfield Ice (0-2) Exhibition (0-2)
- Good news is the Ice have scored at least once in every game, look to continue the streak vs top ranked Mt Doug.

22. (22) Howe Sound Sounders (0-1) Exhibition (0-1)
- LT running circles around the Sounders. Will be same or worse vs Windsor. Sounders have talent, can be better.

23. (23) Aldergrove Totems (0-0) Exhibition (0-1)
- Had week off to prepare for Hugh Boyd this week, won't help though, expect to get clobbered.

24. (24) Quesnel/Correlieu Cougars (0-0)
- Folded, should've expected as much.

25. (18) Kalamalka (0-0)
- Team has folded, not enough numbers. Some players have transfered to Fulton.

26. (25) Norkam Saints (0-0)
- Pundits were right, Norkam folds

    Hey Fanatic,

I'd love to see a combined Top 5 poll for Triple A and Double A from you. In my opinion the top 5 teams in the province are the following:

    1 VC
    2 Moaut
    3 Centennial
    4 Windsor
    5 STM

    HM : Lord Tweedsmuir

    1 VC
    2 Sands
    3 Mouat
    4 Lord Tweedsmuir
    5 Centenial

ps..Sands will dominate any AA and will beat MOST AAA teams..they have alot of depth..they will take both windsor and LT when it counts..i wanna see a Sands vs Mouat game or Sands vs VC...

Your a retard, they would get spanked by the good AAA teams and by the good AA ones. Other wise they would have beat windsor

    Vancouver College
    Centennial
    W.J. Mouat
    STM
    Windsor

    HM- Sands, Lord Tweedsmuir

as for Sands beating any of the teams above, i'd say Windsor, Lord Tweedsmuir and STM at most.. they wouldn't beat the rest.. the best they could do would be to lose by 1-2 td's against VC, Centennial + W.J. Mouat.. well maybe not Mouat:P

I predict after next week , Frank Hurt will not be in the top 10 for the rest of the year. Teams like Sentinel, Moscrop, Fulton will surpas them.

i think they (sands) would put up a good fight at the end of the year against VC and mouat..they just need to stop making mental errors and by the looks of it..keep the 2nd half as intense as the first half, because they come out pretty flat in the 2nd half, so cpt's at sands, PUMP EM UP

there is no way that windsor is in the overall top 5 in BC, id say top 10 but not top 5
