Ive heard that Gabe Ephard is going to Minot State... any truth?
Also shown on NSAAC.com Justin Andrushko has visited U of S, U of C and WWU... where is he going, anybody know?

Just read that Jordan Willetts will be a walk on for University of Oregon next year... Even though he is just a walk on that is still impressive to see someone go D1-A

Why is it being said that Craig Hayman's going to SFU? He's a good friend of mine, and all he signed was some thing saying he agreed to the rules of Clan football. He has not signed anything that binds him to SFU
At 3:43 PM, March 18, 2006, Anonymous said…
Well just to let you guys know that are not already knowleged on the topic. In the CIS there is no binding document that you must sign. In the CIS the entire recruitng game is done on a trust system. If one was to commit to lets just say SFU the person is not obligated to go to attend that school and play football. The person could change his mind and commit to UBC the day after and SFU can't do anything about it. It is all about Trust, The schools are forced to trust the player that after he commits he shows up in fall.

It is different at SFU. Maybe because they used to be NAIA but they have agreements that are signed that obligate you to the school. Essentially a contract that binds you to your commitment. Not sure if Hayman signed that but if he did he will be forced to sit out his first season if he decides to go else where.

Paul Samra of Centennial committed to Eastern Washington Div 1-AA a month ago.
At 5:21 PM, March 19, 2006, Anonymous said…
Congratulations to Paul. Eastern Washington has a very good program. Good luck to him.

Eastern Washington is Div 1-AA, not div 2. They play in the Big Sky conference.

Did Jordan only get an invite to try out as a walk on or is he given a spot on the team already?
At 10:03 AM, March 20, 2006, Anonymous said…
Jordan is required to attend a tryout in September to secure a spot. However, the tryout is by invite only extended by the Oregon coaches. If he survives the cut - he will be red-shirted the remainder of the season.(He chose this route over a spot at U of Colorado - wants to try and make it in the Pac10).

It is rumored that Matt Chapdelaine is going to sign with the University of Alberta Golden Bears. If it is true that his dad is the frontrunner for the SFU job, Matt could play his dad next season!
At 9:59 PM, March 20, 2006, Anonymous said…
If i was him, I wouldn't want to play for my dad. Also the Golden Bear's program is wayyyyyyyyy better than SFU's program.
Also i doubt that Chap's dad will take the job casue it will be a major pay cut.

BC Sports fanatic is wrong on this one it would be a long shot for chapdilian to take it. look for sfu assistant coach Terry Baily to take over as SFU's head coach
At 9:04 PM, March 26, 2006, Anonymous said…
geez, what happened to Beaton? "The Winningest Coach in SFu history"
with a record of like 85-1000000000000000000
At 9:05 PM, March 26, 2006, Anonymous said…
whats with decent players heading to the basement of university ball? (sfu sux)
At 3:44 PM, March 27, 2006, Anonymous said…
There is no way Terry Bailey will be the head coach. He has been a huge part of the mediocrity that is SFU football. Plus, if they were going to hire him, why not do it now when recruiting and spring ball is close? If they were dumb enough to keep him, expect them to be as bad as last year.
At 5:17 PM, March 27, 2006, Anonymous said…
that is bullshit Terry Baily is largly responceable for the only good players that sfu had. He should and will be the enxt head coach for sfu i can almost gurentee it
At 5:33 PM, March 27, 2006, Anonymous said…
Sorry but I believe that Coach Dino was the reason for good players going to SFU in the past years. However he is now at UBC. I believe that SFU needs to have a clean sweep in coaching staff in order to turn the program around. Start fresh.
At 6:07 PM, March 27, 2006, Anonymous said…
first of all beton got the axe cause he just wasnt gettin the job done and second of all its a suprise they dont jsut fold the program over at sfu with the unreasonable gpa requirments and a football budget to which u can barley by a pair of klets with. baily is a good choice for the spot. solid coach knows alot around the league and knows alot of bc football athlets

whats going on with the names that we always heard during the season
Gabe Ephard
Zach Denton
Justin Andrusko
Oscar Tapia
we had alot of good RBs that made a name for themself this past year... and i dont see any of them on this list of commitments.
At 11:22 PM, March 29, 2006, BCSportsFanatic said…
Gabe Ephard - NAIA Minot State in North Dakota, not 100% confirmed.
Zach Denton - NCAA Div2 Western Wash heavy interest, light interest from Oregon and Washington State
Justin Andrusko - U Sask and U Calgary have heavy interest, UBC also I believe
Oscar Tapia - haven't heard anything about Oscar. Not sure if he is even planning on playing college ball.

At 9:54 PM, March 30, 2006, Anonymous said…

It is good that all these good players are going somewhere, but i would like to say that SFU is not the worst football team in the CIS or in North America for that matter. There is a university out in New Brunswick called Mount Allison, some how they have a football program even though the last time they actaully won a single game was maybe 3 or 4 years ago. They also have the worst football game in probaly history under their belts with a 106-6 loss to a school(cant remember/dont know) they are the worst team in football history. So please with this knowledge please dont call SFU the worst; they may be struggling but at least they arent as bad as Mount Allison.
At 7:27 PM, April 02, 2006, Anonymous said…
or Toronto....man they sux.
But SFU is still a basement program.
They were winless this year.
Being bad is bad. Being "not Mount Allison" isnt a very good conselation.
And having football teams places is a great opportunity.
Football's going to pay for part of my education.
