2006 AAA Central Conference Preview

Projected Finish

1. St Thomas More Knights
2. Centennial Centaurs
3. Pinetree Wolves
4. Terry Fox Ravens
5. Mt Douglas Rams

Updated. Mt Douglas has moved back up to AAA and Burnaby Central has been reassigned to AA playing an exhibition schedule next season.

STM is the early favorite to win the Central Conference. A strong finish this year, the Knights should be ready to roll come 2006. RB Singh will be the go-to back and the Knights bring up a strong JV group that won the Title. Question mark will be whether or not Dumas comes back to play, they need him at pivot.

Centennial could be a top 3 team in 2006. With 2 of the 3 speedsters, QB Hurst and RB Miko returning they will be very good. If they can get a strong 5 up front and find a few diamonds in the rough on the D-line, they could be the #1 team in 2006. As it stands, there are several unknowns to rank them higher at the moment. Their JV team did not fare well this season.

Pinetree is ready to take a major step forward in 2006. If you haven't heard the name Brett Wee yet, get ready. Wee has been dominating in JV and Community ball and is set to break out in the Varsity scene starting next season. Wee played on the Varsity team this year, but the blocking was atrocious, expect that to change in a big way next year. The Timberwolves will be much improved, although 2007 is probably their year.

Terry Fox loses a lot of Seniors to graduation but QB Chaube will be back. Their JV team was decent. The Ravens could be good, but I doubt they'll be better than STM, Centennial, or Pinetree.

Mt Douglas will graduate a lot of talent this year. QB Smith, LB Curry, etc... They have a solid group of JVs that played in AAA last year. Depending on how well the younguns catch on, the Rams could be a contender in 2006.

Cowichan, not much else to say. If they could compete in AA that would be a much better fit. Update, according to a source. Cowichan will compete in Community instead of High School in 2006.

I think STM will be 1st with Pinetree in 2nd... centennial will have a good offense just not a good enough defense...

  • At 1:27 PM, December 30, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said…

No Way Pinetree will be 2nd Cent is to strong on offense that even with a bad defense there Offense will keep them in everygame.

nah dude, pinetree over cent, pinetrees offense is just as good as cents or almost, and there defense is much better.

cent beat pinetree in 2004 in JV without quincy hurst. and now there are some very strong and fast linemen coming in this year for them.

Cowichan is out...Mt. Doug is in to replace them.

    STM will be good..as always.
Cent and Fox will be good..check out all the conference allstars these two teams had this year.

Burnaby wants to play AA...but won't be able to..

Pinetree will be O.K. but not near as good as Cent or Fox.

Why does blog man think Pinetree will be so good just Wee?

  • At 3:36 PM, January 06, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I know dude...Pinetree will not be as good as Fox or Cent. I think it will be a battle for 1st in the confrence..No Garuntees in this division.

pinetree will be better then fox for sure, and most likely cent too, itll be a battle between PT and STM for that league

i kno, this guy must reallly have a thing for brett, PT must take some offense to what he wrote about them becuz its all about brett and bashing the rest of PT.

man pinetree hasnt done shit, and they wont do shit, how could they just randomly become better then teams that always goto playoffs?

they havent been good for a cuple years and that wont change this year

  • At 6:56 PM, January 06, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

So BC fanatic Why is PT's blocking going to automatically get better. They were bad last year. They lost 30-0 to Kamloops and then Fox beat kamloops 25-0 at BC place before losing in a decent game to VC. Is Wee really that good? Are they planning to do a "centennial" or "Sands" and "find" some cheating freaking Lineman from surrey or cloverdale or ?

mount doug has a good back but the people are right. this is a bigger league than AA and if your not a top 3 in AA your not going far in AAA because AAA is a more serious division for alot of teams, especially the ones that can compete. standigs will probably go something like this:
    Centennial
    STM
    Terry Fox
    Mount Douglas
    Pinetree
    Burnaby Central

Terry Fox STM and Centennial can all go around between 1-3. take your pick because it doesnt matter. 1st place is up or grabs in 2006 AAA Central

  • At 8:00 PM, January 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

First off centennial has no offense, you cant call 2 small shifty running backs with no offensive live an offense, they are going to be in for a very long season unless they decide to cheat again. Terry fox will have absolutly nothing next year. there line couldnt be worse. They have a good running back(robbie ash) and a good reciever(passaglia)but thats about it. Stm has alot of really good talent next year they will be first. Pinetree has some really big potential next year and could be really good. Mount douglas is a huge darkhouse right now. burnaby central, well they will have another ''rebuilding'' year i guess. heres the way the rankings go in central conference.

    1.stm
    2.pinetree
    3.centennial
    4.terry fox
    5.mount doug
    6.burnaby central

stm will beat pt in a close game and pt will be cent in a close game, t.fox wont be on quite the same level as the top 3.

  • At 8:56 PM, January 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Everyone remember this, Mt doug will go undefeated and win the AAA crown

  • At 9:01 PM, January 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

How will Mount doug have a rebuilding year next year? They are gonna be a top contender in AAA and i bet they go deep in the playoffs

  • At 3:24 PM, January 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Big bad AAA Pinetree got railed by little AA Barsby this past year. I say Mt Doug goes 3rd in the Div. STM is too good and Centennial will just out and out beat the Rams.

  • At 3:35 PM, January 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

i dont see Mount Doug finishing 3rd. maybe 4th but im gunna guess 5th. i think it will be:

    1.STM
    2.Cent
    3.Fox
    4.Pinetree
    5.Mount Doug
    6.Burnaby Central

  • At 4:26 PM, January 10, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

As sum body said above PT got smoked by Kam high this past year and then Fox tooled Kam high in the playoffs so I don't see how PT is going to beat Fox this coming year. I think it will be STM, Fox and Centennial fighting it out for 1st 2nd and 3rd and the rest will be a ways behind.

  • At 8:42 PM, January 25, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

whoever said "two shifty running backs" isn't Quincy Hurst a Qb? and Miko an RB?

  • At 9:12 PM, January 25, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

lol no kidden, and with there shitty line you could pretty much shut down cent by containing the small running back/qb's.

  • At 11:28 PM, January 25, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

i like how u say "containing the small running back/qb" but do you honestly think you can contain them? no matter what team your on thats gunna be a tough task because they have so much speed that no matter how much you "contain" them there still gunna find a way to break a big one.

  • At 2:12 AM, January 29, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

rumour has it centennial has small (5'10 - 6'1) lineman but are very strong and are fast. all run around 4.7-4.9 40's

Neil Romonowski, Max Diegamico, Vincent Miller, Sean Phillips, Harraj Chatha, Richard Baxter

  • At 5:07 PM, January 29, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

they are small and fast but definitly not strong they are really easy to push around and there speed is useless when u can push there o-line back 4 yards every play.

  • At 4:44 PM, January 30, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Rumour has it? lol if you know their names I would bet that you're a centaur and that you're one of the "strong and fast" ones..give us a break. Centennial does have good backs but the line IS questionable. They were not great this year to be honest and that's why they got worn down by college wasn't it? Anyhow lets just wait and play the game. The problem with centennial is they are such a bunch of cheating S.O.B's that they could have 2-3 kids from Cloverdale or Elgin park or somewhere else by next year. They will all probably live in a basement suite on Poirier.

  • At 4:47 PM, January 30, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

That cheating bast**d out at Sands is going to get his from what I've heard..He's up before a committee from BC school Sports. Not sure what the punishment will be for the recruiting and bullsh*t that went on out there but those centaur cheaters better be careful!! Hopefully they'll get busted next!

I think the order of finish, with what we know now, will be: STM, Centennial, Fox, Mt. Doug, Pinetree & Burnaby.

Mt. Doug is not the Mt. Doug of old. This team will be competitive in AAA.

  • At 11:53 AM, February 06, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Central folded (along with North Delta). Wonder if they will move Mt. Doug to the Eastern to give even number of teams for the schedule.

  • At 12:15 AM, February 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

If They move Mt Doug to Eastern then the Central will only have 4 teams soo i dont think that will happen

why dont u all reconize that FOX and there defence and offense are going to rip. there oline is all above 6'1 220 so you better watch. most peeps dont know the hell there talking about...pff fox is always underated but on game day they will take u by suprise

  • At 10:52 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

dude, foxs team was huge in there jv year, but one thing, they blew......they really blew. no strengh at all and very little speed.

  • At 10:53 PM, February 22, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

by team i meen o-line, but i guess i could say the same about the whole team

  • At 8:27 PM, February 23, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

ya we really blew ur right, thats y STM had to use a size 200 ball to throw a touchdown to beat us right? The Team that won it all had to cheat to beat us and the other touchdown the Qbs knees were down and he lateralled it to Desmond Singh and he scored so really if the refs didnt "blow" as u would say we possibly culdve won that game and u think we "blew" in JV? ooook buddy

  • At 7:44 PM, February 27, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

O.K. all BS aside. The team that is going to dominate in this conference (or any conference) is the team who prepares best NOW! What are you all doing now to become a better ball player? What dod you do today to get stronger? How many of your teammates are training? The road to victory is paved in IRON! Get in the weightroom and off the fricking computer!!

  • At 8:11 PM, March 04, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Good point about being on the computer "too" (I'm sure you know err.. I mean knoe) the difference between too, two, and to right? As long as you're working out more than you are on the computer.. right? Anyhow your point is the same as mine..ie. bring it on the field (after preparing in the gym) Not sure why you say I don't know a thing because by your post I'd say that you might be the one needing a little help..at least in the grammar department. Not sure why you take offense to someone saying that talk is cheap and preparation is important unless of course you're one of those lazy dumbass types who never lift and can't spell!!

I think people should give Mount Doug more respect. They play a physical brand of football and have made it deep in the Triple A Junior Varsity playoffs the last 2 years. Losing to STM each year in close games. The fact is Pinetree was terrible last year and got their assess handed to them by Barsby. Mount Doug also made it to the Double A Semi's with predominantly a junior team. Fox has underachieved for years and I don't expect much from them in 2006. My prediction is the following:

    1 STM
    2. Centennial
    3. Mount Doug
    4. Pinetree
    5. Fox

This is definitely the toughest division in BC High School Football!

  • At 8:44 AM, March 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

What is the best Mt Doug has ever done at AAA???

    Rigggghtt..

Just cause you cheated n went AA for a year and got to play in thier playoffs dont mean squat.

Mt DogS#$t will get rocked this year and we will all be laughing at you when the playoffs come, cause we will be playing and you wont!!!

  • At 2:38 PM, March 07, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

i think it will come down to centennial here. if no defence. 2nd, maybe 3rd or lower. if they can get a good defence going they can win it all

  • At 8:58 PM, March 09, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

k ya most of us are probably underestimating Mount Doug but i wouldn't say ur gunna finish ahead of Pinetree or Fox, Pinetree was pretty bad last year but they werent that bad in JV a couple years ago there strong point is probably gunna be Wee so if you shut him down you can win but its hard to judge them, and Fox has a few new faces and there JV team wasen't bad a couple years ago they stayed close to the eventual JV Champs STM and now they have Boomer at QB i think they could surprise people.

McDivit is the key for Terry Fox this season. If he plays they could be scary

  • At 12:12 PM, March 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

The Mt. Doug Clown a few posts above has his head up his ass. Saying that Fox has underachieved etc. Mt. Doug can talk once they are a consistent top 5 or 6 team year after year. I'm not from Fox (I play at Holy Cross) but those guys consistently have a decent team. I can't remember when they last missed the playoffs. We haven't played them (except at spring) for a few seasons but the last time we did we got spanked. They have in the past been much better than Centennial and should be 1, 2 or 3 again in this tough conference.

  • At 3:24 PM, March 13, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

O.K. Fox hasn't won a Championship since 1989..but does this mean they are underachieving? If so, I guess a lot of other decent programs are underachieving too. Did you see their quarterfinal game with VC last season? It was like a 21-14 game. The yer before they played Hanson tougher than anyone did all year in that semi-final. Buddy who wants Mt. Doug to be respected might want to wait until they win a few games at the AAA level. The last time they were at AAA they were terrible and had to go down to continue to play. I hope they do have their shit together this time because it's a pain in the ass (and expensive) to have to travel to the Island. Perhaps this time around they will give some teams a game.

How does anyone rank Pintree ahead of Fox? I know they didn't play last year but looking at teams they both did play should give us a clue right? Well...Pinetree lost to Kam High 30-0 and Fox defeated Kam High 25-0. Unless Pinetree is returning everyone and Fox loses everyone...then??

your basing a point on a games LAST year. that team wasnt together last year. all teams have someone different and not many people see fox taking a win. imo i actually centennial taking 1st if they get a decent defence

rite fox wont get a win, haha.
just like they wont make the playoffs, which they consistently do.

why do people think cent is going to be good, they have TWO good players and absolutly no line to back it up along with no defence. totally over rated. Fox also, from what i remember of their line, there wasnt much of one, just a bunch of tall skinny guys who were easy to throw around. All the other teams will be good

    1.stm
    2.pinetree/MD
    3.cent
    4.fox

Brett Wee just jumped ship to Centennial. Look for Pinetree to finish dead last! Mount Doug will finish ahead of Fox.

    My rankings are:

    1 STM
    2 Centennial
    3 Mount Doug
    4 Terry Fox
    5 Pinetree

Brett Wee will not be eliguble to play for Cent next year

  • At 11:16 PM, July 17, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

still brings pinetree down the rank now without a even a half decent RB. Brett Wee would have had a good year with pinetree probably ending up top 6 in RB this year if he stayed in pinetree

  • At 3:21 PM, July 21, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

Pinetree is last for sure now but i think fox will be ahead of Mt.Doug, fox looked pretty good beating Mouat in spring.

    My Rankins are:

    1. STM
    2. Cent
    3. Fox
    4. Mt.Doug
    5. Pinetree

  • At 10:10 PM, August 27, 2006, Anonymous Anonymous said…

let me set the record straight, brett wee wasn't even going to start for pinetree, mike lebel and chris schuster(both who you can look up on nsaac website) were going to be starting in the backfield. Their line isn't ''shit'' cents is much worse. Pinetree tied R.H this year in the spring games.

    1. Terry Fox Ravens (4-0)
T-2. St Thomas More Knights (2-2)
    T-2. Pinetree Wolves (2-2)
    4. Centennial Centaurs (1-3)
    5. Mt Douglas Rams (1-3)

So much for Fox @ 4th.. Pinetree without Wee being 5th, and Centennial ripping sh*t up.
