Week 10 AAA Power Rankings

Last updated Nov 5, 2005 Week 10

So this is how they rank going into the Wildcard Weekend.

1. (1) Vancouver College Fighting Irish (3-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- Consensus #1, nobody can argue with that. Only loss to #1 ranked Ferndale from Wash State.

2. (2) WJ Mouat Hawks (3-0) Exhibition (4-0)
- Only undefeated team in AAA. Could have been #1 if schedule was stronger. Still, I think the Hawks are happy where they are seeded.

3. (3) Centennial Centaurs (2-0) Exhibition (2-3)
- Toughest schedule in AAA, losses were to Bellingham WA, #1 VC, and AA #1 Windsor. Beat Fox handily, #3 ranking is fair.

4. (4) STM Knights (3-0) Exhibition (2-1)
- Better record overall than Cent, but strength of schedule is suspect. Of the 5 wins, only Notre Dame was significant, also lost to #1 VC.

5. (6) Notre Dame Jugglers (2-1) Exhibition (3-1)
- Got stronger as the season went on. Should get a favorable first round matchup, Quarters could be tough.

6. (5) New West Hyacks (2-1) Exhibition (2-2)
- Improved a lot over the season. Also should get a favorable first round matchup, again, the Quarters could be tough though.

7. (11) West Vancouver Highlanders (1-2) Exhibition (3-1)
- Should be a top 8 team, but loss to North Delta is suspect.

8. (9) Terry Fox Ravens (1-1) Exhibition (2-1)
- Difficult to rank the Ravens. Beat Carson and South Delta in pre-season.

9. (12) Holy Cross Crusaders (3-0) Exhibition (0-3)
- 3 big regular season wins have moved them up into top 10. A first round win is a strong possibility.

10. (10) South Kamloops Titans (3-0) Exhibition (1-2)
- Convincing win over Salmon Arm could be deceiving. Still not sure any other way to rank them.

11. (11) Salmon Arm Golds (1-1) Exhibition (3-1)
- Won't crack top 10 due to loss to South Kam. Will be dangerous team to face for the first round.

12. (8) Timberline Wolves (1-2) Exhibition (3-1)
- Same record as West Van, and should've been 3-0 but didn't get the lucky breaks.

13. (15) Carson Graham Eagles (1-2) Exhibition (1-3)
- Tie breaker rules should mean that Carson is in. But will face a top 4 team in the first round.

14. (13) South Delta Sun Devils (1-2) Exhibition (1-3)
- With North Delta losing, the Sun Devils have the playoffs in view. Problem is a top 4 team is who they face.

15. (16) Handsworth Royals (1-2) Exhibition (3-0)
- Good enough to make the top 16 with the win over Timberline. Not sure if the "selection committee" will rank 1 thru 16 or by conference. If by conference, I believe they are out due to tie-breaking rules.

16. (8) North Delta Huskies (0-3) Exhibition (3-0)
- Losses to Holy Cross and South Delta sealed their fate, was decent before the strike, but really tailed off the last couple of weeks.

17. (21) Kelowna Owls (1-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Rankings won't get them into the playoffs, but if by Conference, they get in.

18. (17) Mt. Boucherie Bears (1-2) Exhibition (2-1)
- Lost heartbreaker to KSS. What could've been for the Bears slipped away that night. See you next year.

19. (18) Rick Hansen Hurricanes (0-3) Exhibition (1-3)
- With the strong number of Juniors they had this year, they should be a lot stronger next year.

20. (19) Pinetree T-Wolves (0-2) Exhibition (1-2)
- Focus is on the JVs who have a shot at going deep.

21. (20) Rutland Voodoo (0-3) Exhibition (1-3)
- Did muster a win at least, looking forward to next year.

22. (22) Burnaby Central Wildcats (0-2) Exhibition (0-3)
- A forgetful season for Central, can only get better from here.

23. (22) Cowichan T-Birds (0-1) Exhibition (2-2)
- Decided to pack it in with 2 road games to go. Better luck next season.

I think Rick Hansen still has a shot at the 16th spot. They played teams like Holy Cross, New West and Notre Dame pretty tough. They also did not allow over 50 points to Moaut like North Delta did.

It will be interesting to see who gets the number 3 seed. Stm did not beat pinetree by as much. but Centennial did lose to Windsor. I could see it going either way.

there's no shame in losing to windsor, as for stm not scoring as much was expected against pinetree it could of just been a bad game. i'd give centennial 3rd and stm 4th

They really should let these two teams play, in the rescheduling of the games, it would've made the playoff picture a lot more clear
