Week 10 AA Power Rankings

The last week of rankings as we head into the playoffs. I don't think there are any major surprises, 14 through 17 could go either way. We'll see what the "selection committee" does tomorrow.


1. (1) Windsor Dukes (4-0) Exhibition (3-0)
- Heavy favorite to win it all.

2. (2) Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers (4-0) Exhibition (3-0)
- Could this be the year the Four Horsemen finally win a championship?? We shall see.

3. (3) Sands Scorpions (3-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- Sands could give Windsor or LT run for their money. If not, next year will be their year.

4. (4) Mt. Douglas Rams (4-0) Exhibition (1-1)
- Should be in Semis, but there are teams good enough to upset the Rams.

5. (5) John Barsby Bulldogs (3-0) Exhibition (2-2)
- Look to have all their ducks in a row with playoffs around the corner. Tough pre-season means they are battle tested.

6. (6) Ballenas Whalers (4-0) Exhibition (1-2)
- Playoff bound Whalers peaking at the right time, defense is looking sharper, Quarters could be a challenge.

7. (9) Clarence Fulton Maroons (4-0) Exhibition (0-2)
- Clearly the best in Interior. Lack of Inter-Conference games makes it difficult to rank them.

8. (8) Mission Roadrunners (3-1) Exhibition (2-0)
- Improved significantly over last year, a first round win would validate their success.

9. (7) Hugh Boyd Trojans (2-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Top 8 maybe, but a first round win won't be easy.

10. (11) Okanagan Mission Huskies (2-2) Exhibition (1-2)
- Win over Valleyview again means they are #2 in OK, difficult to rank them with the rest of the teams.

11. (10) G.P. Vanier Towhees (1-3) Exhibition (1-2)
- Could be top 10, had a good showing vs LT but followed it up with a bad loss to Ballenas. If the playoffs are ranked by Conference, Vanier will get screwed.

12. (12) Frank Hurt Hornets (1-2) Exhibition (2-0)
- Not a top 10 team from what we've seen, first round game will be tough.

13. (14) Sentinel Spartans (2-2) Exhibition (1-1)
- Could see Windsor again in first round, a horrifying prospect.

14. (16) Moscrop Panthers (2-2) Exhibition (0-2)
- Got the win they needed, based on ranking should be good to get in. If by Conference, they could be odd one out.

15. (15) Valleyview Vikings (1-3) Exhibition (0-2)
- By beating Westsyde convincingly last week, they have barely sneaked into the top 16.

16. (17) Seaquam Seahawks (1-2) Exhibition (1-2)
- Should get the nod by the "selection committee" by the slimmest of margins though.

17. (13) Westsyde Blue Wave (1-3) Exhibition (0-0)
- Big loss to Valleyview means they need the playoffs to be ranked by Conference or season is finished for them.

18. (18) Gulf Islands Scorpions (0-3) Exhibition (1-1)
- Loss to Moscrop in the slop means the season is done.

19. (19) Nanaimo District Islanders (0-3) Exhibition (1-3)
- Could not do much vs Seaquam, back to the Island to pack up.

20. (20) North Surrey Spartans (0-3) Exhibition (0-2)
- Last game was cancelled due to Surrey Parks cancelling the use of all fields. Mt Doug would've been a tough game for the Spartans anyway.

21. (21) Mark Isfield Ice (0-5) Exhibition (0-2)
- A win would've been nice, oh well, at least they got to play 7 games, that's more than most teams got to play.

22. (22) Howe Sound Sounders (0-2) Exhibition (0-1)
- Ballenas loss last week ended the season for the Sounders, looking towards a better year next season.

23. (23) Aldergrove Totems (0-3) Exhibition (0-1)
- With some promising JVs, the future looks bright.

24. (24) Quesnel/Correlieu Cougars (0-0)
- Folded, should've expected as much.

25. (18) Kalamalka (0-0)
- Team has folded, not enough numbers. Some players have transfered to Fulton.

26. (25) Norkam Saints (0-0)
- Pundits were right, Norkam folds
