Week 6 AAA Power Rankings

Last updated Oct 2, 2005 Week 6

First week of Regular Season action doesn't produce any major upsets but the rankings move slightly. New West, Notre Dame, Terry Fox all move up slightly with wins. Timberline drops after almost getting shocked, South Delta also continues it's tumble. West Van moves up as well with good outing vs #1 VC.

1. (1) Vancouver College Fighting Irish (1-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- West Van was a tough test, passing game came through. D-line looking solid. Should be a walk in the park vs Handsworth this week.

2. (2) WJ Mouat Hawks (1-0) Exhibition (4-0)
- Win over North Delta keeps the Hawks undefeated, the only undefeated team left in AAA. Holy Cross will be tougher than the pundits think, expected to stay undefeated though.

3. (3) Centennial Centaurs (1-0) Exhibition (2-2)
- Over .500 for the first time this season with rout over lowly Pinetree. Game of the year coming up against STM.

4. (4) STM Knights (1-0) Exhibition (2-1)
- STM hasn't seen any real game action all year until Cent this upcoming week, a full 3 weeks since they beat Holy Cross. Trip to Cowichan this week was like a School Field Trip.

5. (6) New West Hyacks (1-0) Exhibition (2-2)
- Mistakes continue to plague New West, thank god they were playing Hansen. North Delta is the first big game for New West, need it to stay #2 in East.

6. (7) Notre Dame Jugglers (1-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- Collects the impressive win over Handsworth, proof that the team is improving. Sink or swim time this week vs Timberline, a win almost guarantees a playoff berth.

7. (5) Timberline Wolves (1-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- Late 4th quarter burst literally saved the season for the Wolves. Drops from here, face a tough Notre Dame team this week, make or break game for playoff positioning.

8. (8) North Delta Huskies (0-1) Exhibition (3-0)
- The good, scored 2 TDs vs Mouat. The bad, allowed 53 pts to be scored by Mouat. That's OK, ready to redeem themselves vs New West this week.

9. (10) Terry Fox Ravens (1-0) Exhibition (2-1)
- Offense came alive vs Central, passing game still needs work. Lowly Pinetree up next, more time to work on that passing game.

10. (9) Salmon Arm Golds (0-0) Exhibition (3-1)
- Stung by Wash State's Oroville. No need to panic though, have Kelowna coming up to get their game back.

11. (13) West Vancouver Highlanders (0-1) Exhibition (3-1)
- Hung in against #1 VC. Carson coming up will be no rollover, ask Timberline. Needs the win to keep the playoff hopes alive.

12. (11) Handsworth Royals (0-1)
Exhibition (3-0)
- Playoffs are slipping away for Prepchuk and Co. after loss to Notre Dame. Can they stay with VC this week?? Doubt it.

13. (12) Mt. Boucherie Bears (1-0) Exhibition (2-1)
- Shaky game vs Rutland, defense needs to show up vs South Kam this week. Key game as a win puts the playoffs in view, a loss and the season may start to slip away.

14. (14) Rick Hansen Hurricanes (0-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Lost to New West despite the sloppy play of New West. Can rekindle any hopes of a playoff run with a winnable game vs South Delta this week.

15. (15) South Kamloops Titans (1-0) Exhibition (1-2)
- Kelowna win was a given. Big test coming up vs Mt Boucherie. A win and the Titans will set their eyes on Salmon Arm to go for #1 in OK.

16. (17) Holy Cross Crusaders (1-0) Exhibition (0-3)
- Finally a win, vs South Delta mind you. There's pain, then there's Motrin pain, about to find out the meaning of pain vs undefeated WJ Mouat.

17. (18) Carson Graham Eagles (0-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Heartbreaking loss vs Timberline, a win would've been magical. Could another possible upset vs West Van be in the cards?? We'll find out this week.

18. (16) South Delta Sun Devils (0-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Any hopes of their dream run last year are all but dashed with the blowout loss to Holy Cross. Hansen game is only hope of scoring any points the rest of the way.

19. (19) Pinetree T-Wolves (0-1) Exhibition (1-2)
- If you talk smack, better back it up, playing air would've been better than Pinetree players vs Cent. Should be Deja vu all over again vs Fox this week.

20. (21) Rutland Voodoo (0-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Almost shocked us again, barely losing to Mt Boucherie. Week off to prepare for South Kam.

21. (20) Kelowna Owls (0-1) Exhibition (1-3)
- Good effort vs South Kam, same result, another loss. Salmon Arm game won't be much better.

22. (22) Burnaby Central Wildcats (0-1) Exhibition (0-3)
- Played tough vs Fox, but couldn't do much of anything. If they can't beat Cowichan this week, maybe it's time to admit that they don't belong.

23. (22) Cowichan T-Birds (0-1) Exhibition (2-2)
- STM was merciful in the beat down. Could the T-Birds steal one this week vs Central?? Hey, anything's possible.

in their first ever AAA game they fumbled the football 8 times (once in the red zone), had a touchdown called back and still only lost by 1 point
