The 04/05 Timberline Wolves team figure to contend last year but ultimately came up short. The Wolves finished 2-3 and out of the playoff picture. The offense was inconsistent and did not show up when it mattered. Their defense was better, but certainly not good enough to make up for the offense. The Seniors that led the offense included QB Joe Down, TB John Rancier, FB Caleb Collins and WR Andrew Baker. On Defense, the Timberwolves got decent tackling and penetration from DE Arthur Trim, LB Tim Markoff, LB Brook Robazza, and LB Graeme Leigh.

05/06 will come with a whole new set of expectations as the JV squad went all the way to the Semifinals losing to Rick Hansen. The JV wolves cruised through the Regular Season going 9-0. The JV team was dominate on both sides of the ball. In the Quarterfinals, they crushed a talented JV Centennial team 23-0 (although it could be said that Centennial just had a really bad game). In addition to the ultra-talented group of rookies, the following key players return as Seniors, QB Joe Down, LB Tim Markoff, LB Brook Robazza and LB Graeme Leigh. Leigh played on both the Varsity and JV team last year and will be a player to watch. Another player to watch is rookie QB Bradley. Bradley is a versatile athlete capable of playing multiple positions, Bradley is good enough that he could contend for some snaps at QB with Down. The Wolves had mixed results in Spring Ball going 2-2, Coach Jaunzemis saw much potential for his young team and also much to work on.

The 05/06 Wolves are a much quicker, much more athletic team than in 04/05. How that will translate into Wins/Losses is hard to tell. With Vancouver College all but locked up the Conference, the battle for 2nd and 3rd and a playoff berth will be hard fought. All 3 teams (Handsworth, Notre Dame, and Timberline) are close in terms of skill and abilities. All 3 are young and extremely talented. Still, the Wolves should be the early favorites with what they have on paper and what they're rookies have shown they can do. But once the season starts, everything can change in a heartbeat. No matter what happens, the Wolves will be a very exciting team to watch.

Prognosis: 4-1 (Pre-season favorite to take 2nd)
Key Games: Week 4, Timberline vs WJM; Week 6, ND vs Timberline;Week 7, Handsworth vs Timberline
Top Offensive Players: QB Brock Bradley, RB Derek Keller, QB Joe Down, WR Kenny Collins
Top Defensive Players: LB Graeme Leigh, LB Tim Markoff, LB Brook Robazza
