The 04/05 Ravens could've been renamed "Terry Fox - The Greatest Show on Turf". The combo attack of run from RB Jamall Lee and pass with sophmore sensation Boomer Chaube was one of, if not the most potent in the league. So potent that they reached 50 or more points 3 times last year, not even Seta's Knights did that. The Ravens also got major offensive contributions from RB Jamie Cloete and Chaube's favorite targets, WRs Ryan Bradley and Tyson Buchannen. Their team defense finished in the top half of the league led by LBs Scott Connors and Sean Riley and DB Des Williams. After a first round romp over Rutland, the Ravens hit the wall against eventual champions Rick Hansen Hurricanes. The Ravens actually led 24-21 at halftime, but were shutout the rest of the way.

Of their many offensive weapons, only Boomer Chaube and Tyson Buchannen are returning from last year's explosive team. The one knock on Chaube is his height, he's 5'10 (and probably with cleats on). Although at only 16 yrs of age, he does have a growth spurt or 2 or 3 left in him. There is talk that rookie QB Jerry McDivitt from last years JV squad could get some snaps and definitely is someone to keep an eye on. A couple of more rookies to watch are RB Daniel Lewis and FB Robbie Ash who led the JV ground attack last season. It will be a young team, but loaded with potential.

The Ravens are too young and inexperienced to take down a Centennial or STM. But with both Pinetree and Burnaby Central building from the ground up as well, the Ravens should take 3rd in the division with a berth in the playoffs. Once they're in, anything can happen. With so much god-given talent, the Ravens will be dangerous, especially in the playoffs, and they may just end up taking down one or more of the big juggernauts.

Prognosis: 3-2 (Good enough to make the playoffs)
Key Games: Week 7, Fox vs Cent; Week 8 Fox vs STM; Shouldn't win either, but hey, you never know.
Top Offensive Players: QB Boomer Chaube, WR Tyson Buchannen
Top Defensive Players: LB Cam McHugh, DB Jay Graham

(contributions from Money for Da Forum... Much love, good luck this season)
