The Rutland Voodoo started the Football year with impressive wins in the preseason vs AA opponents Valleyview, Fulton, OKM and division rival MBSS. The Voodoo continued that momentum into the regular season with 3 wins with the lone loss coming at the hands of South Kamloops. The Voodoo ended the regular season with a thrilling 28-26 win over MBSS to earn a playoff berth for the first year AAA team. QB Rob Adamik, RB/LB Kevin Kraft, and WR/S Tyrell Francisco had outstanding seasons finishing among the top players statistically in their respective positions. On Defense, the team performed well against weaker competition, but allowed Terry Fox to score 55 in their playoff game. South Kamloops also had their way with the Voodoo blanking them 29-0, the mercy rule most likely in effect.

Entering their 2nd year in the new Okanagan Conference in AAA Football, the Voodoo look to return to the playoffs as a top 2 team. However, they will begin their new journey without the services of All-Star Seniors RB Kraft and WR Tyrell Francisco both playing for the Okanagan Sun this year. 3rd year starting QB Adamik will lead the offense, featuring returning RB Tyler Lee and WR Tyler Stephens as key offensive players. A rookie to watch for this year is WR Taylor Turkington who looked very skilled in the Spring and Summer. At Defense, the team will turn again to 2 way players LB Tyler Lee and Safety Tyler Stephens to lead the way.

We know the Voodoo are a team that can post a big number on the scoreboard, Adamik, Lee, and Stephens will prove that. The key to success in 05/06 will be stopping their opponents from posting big numbers. A return to the post-season depends on it. With the top 2 teams going to the playoffs once again, it will come down to 3 teams, MBSS, South Kamloops, and the Voodoo. Both games vs MBSS in Week 3 and South Kamloops in Week 4 will be huge.

Prognosis: 3-1 (MBSS has improved enough to take it this year)
Key Games: Week 1, Rutland vs MB; Week 3, MB vs Rutland; Week 4, Rutland vs SK
Top Offensive Players: QB Rob Adamik, RB Tyler Lee, WR Tyler Stephens
Top Defensive Players: LB Tyler Lee, S Tyler Stephens
