The Centaurs are building off the momentum from a solid 04/05 season where they went 4-1 in the regular season (the lone lose coming against the STM Knights) and went to the Quarterfinals in the playoffs. The team featured a young explosive offense led by the awesome running of RB Zack Denton. The defense was a solid group but inconsistent blanking some teams but giving up big gains as well. In the end, their talented yet inexperienced squad lost in the Quarterfinals of the BC Provincial Championships at BC Place to Handsworth. Lessons learned for the upcoming 05/06 season.

Offensively, the Centaurs return oustanding RB, Zack Denton. Last year, the Junior was arguably the second best back in AAA only behind Marek Seta of STM. Entering his Senior year with major College interest, expect a big season from Denton this year, he could lead the division/league in rushing. Denton is complimented by another young but highly talented RB in AJ Miko. Although Miko is only a Junior he has a football resume longer than most with success at every level he's played. At QB, Quincy Hurst was both a threat to pass and run last year as a sophmore. As a Junior, the expectations will be higher. Both Miko and Hurst also played for the JV team where Miko lead the league in Rushing by a large margin. Defensively, the team will look for more consistency, especially against the run. The team returns LB Bruce Anderson who will need to step up as defensive standout DE Geoff Thomasson has graduated.

The Centaurs were the surprise team in the offseason this summer, picking up 3rd place in the annual Big Kahuna 7-on-7 passing challenge, highest for any Canadian team ever. The Centaurs shouldn't be surprising anyone this upcoming season however. They have most of their core returning from last year, expectations for the 05/06 season are much higher than their Quarterfinal finish last year. Some pre-season AAA rankings have the Centaurs #2, and some as high as #1. There are some doubters though. Can their linemen hold up?? Can the defense perform consistently enough?? All the stars need to line up for this year to be the year of the Centaur.

Prognosis: 5-0 (Centaurs run the table in the Regular Season)
Key Games: Week 2, Cent vs VC; Week 5 STM vs Cent; Week 6 Fox vs Cent
Top Offensive Players: RB Zack Denton, RB AJ Miko, QB Quincy Hurst
Top Defensive Players: LB Bruce Anderson

Unfortunately I didn't receive any info from Coach Phillips. I used mostly info/stats from last year, and other insider info.

Ok is that the same for the rest of the predictions? I still think they are very accurate.

they might have been 4-1 in their conference last year but barely 500 for the whole season. The four semi finalists last year were 2 from the eastern conference and 2 from the northern conference. Stats do not lie. The central "vaunted" central conference was a paper tiger last year.....and...

The Cents were a young team last year. They could've went further but they lacked the playoff experience. Heck, their starting QB was in Gr. 10.

No dis-respect to the semi-finalists last year, but if Seta doesn't blow his knee in a mean nothing blowout vs Central, and Fox doesn't roll over and die in the 2nd half vs Hansen, STM and Fox go to the semis.

no matter what team STM put on the field they were going down......South Delta was just flat out better,

Ok, you put the game on setas Knee, yea it might have been different but it wasnt South Delta won. You cant say w.e team Stm put out would've lost because there were some big time errors from stm in that game, such as not scoring before half or the fumble at the end. If both those are scores Stm moves onto the semis, but they didnt score so they go home crying.

Do you have any info on Centennials o-line, seems to me that's what's gonna make or break them

Preliminary reports indicated that the O-line could be vulnerable.

Should be fine vs weak defensive teams, but we'll see how they line up vs VC in Week 2
