The Wildcats are coming off a tough luck season last year having won a lone single league game and going 2-3 in the pre-season. There were high expectations to begin the season, but they saw their Playoff hopes slip away vs STM and were eliminated from Playoff contention at that game. The offense was hot and cold last year, when they struggled, they really struggled as they were blanked twice last year in the regular season. Their defense wasn't much better, they allowed Terry Fox to score 59 points on them.

Expectations for the 05/06 season will be somewhat tempered in terms of wins and losses, as this year will be a rebuilding year for Wildcats. The team graduates their starting backfield as twin brothers Curtis and Prentice Moss, in addition to Cristian Amoroso and James Galdstone are all gone. Basically their whole offense. It is assumed that last year's backup and rookie QB David Pankratz will be at the helm to lead the troops into battle. Pankratz was relatively untested as Moss took the majority of the snaps. Defensively, Central should get a big boost from JV standouts Connar Marrington and John Dickinson. Both were a big part of the JV Linebacking/DB core. Should be interesting if the rookies can shine on the big stage.

Prognosis: 1-4 (win over Cowichan)
Key Games: Week 2, North Delta vs Central; Week 7 Pinetree vs Central
Top Offensive Players: QB David Pankratz, RB John Dickinson, WR Connar Marrington
Top Defensive Players: LB Connar Marrington

Central did so poorly last year not because they didn't have good players because they did, but because there coach not stockman the other one making most of the calls was putting his kids where they would be soon and the rest of the talent in posistions that they wouldn't otherwise play.......Did either of kids go big time in football??? NOPE! I will also have to say you let out some key players, that didn't shine on that team but in community ball.

ya, it was a tough luck year I agree. The talent was there, Moss brothers, Amoroso, etc..

Goes to show how much good coaching really can make a difference (both good and bad).

well he moved to kelowna, but now hes back in burnaby but they might not let him back in central because he wasnt exactly the ideal kid...and connar is playin slot, and outside linebacker....but by the way, our rb in spring ball (zsolti) was pretty good, he was averaging like 20 yards per carry

Actually MLB is Mauro Perizollo, big but inexperienced,Connar is too small to play MLB effectively this year,he will call the plays from outside. The kid you were talking about at middle, the one from the States, will be a back-up,definitely not a stud.
