2005 AA Power Rankings

Last updated Sep 18, 2005 Week 4

No changes to Top 10, Okanagan teams do the shuffle as Fulton moves up, so does Westsyde and OKM, Valleyview drops.

1. (1) Windsor Dukes (3-0)
- Beat Sands as expected. Looking at everyone through rearview mirror right now, too far ahead to catch. Gulf Island game will be a sleepwalk.

2. (2) Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers (3-0)
- Crushed Boyd and Isfield, LT is a contender. another preseason game vs Howe Sound is up next, expect blowout.

3. (3) Sands Scorpions (2-1)
- Played well vs Windsor, looking forward to the rematch in the playoffs. Should roll over AAA Carson Graham.

4. (4) Mt. Douglas Rams (2-1)
- Solid win over Vanier means Mt Doug stays here. Another top 10 team in Hurt this week.

5. (5) John Barsby Bulldogs (1-2)
- AAA Mouat just too many weapons. AAA Pinetree should be a better matchup.

6. (6) Ballenas Whalers (1-2)
- Win over Sentinel was expected, 32 pts allowed was not. Facing a decent conference rival in Moscrop this week. A huge game as a loss would give Moscrop the edge in the playoff race.

7. (7) Frank Hurt Hornets (3-0)
- Another lacklustre outing, this time vs N Surrey, still won though. This week's league game vs Mt Doug will prove whether they are a Top 10 team.

8. (8) Hugh Boyd Trojans (0-3)
- Tough preseason sked, another loss, this time to West Van. Auburn from Wash state is next, chalk up another L.

9. (9) G.P. Vanier Towhees (1-2)
- Loses to Mt Doug as expected, still a top 10 team though. Lowly Isfield won't be much of a test.

10. (10) Mission Roadrunners (2-0)
- Another blowout over Aldergrove this time. N Surrey regular season game should be an easy win.

11. (12) Clarence Fulton Maroons (1-2)
- Beat rival Westsyde, with Valleyview loss, now back to tops in Okanagan. Valleyview game this week is huge and has playoff implications. Kalamalka players should give the team an added boost as well.

12. (17) Westsyde Blue Wave (0-1)
- Lost Conference matchup to Fulton, still #2 in Okanagan. Week off to prepare for another huge matchup vs Conference rival Valleyview, will determine who is #2.

13. (21) Okanagan Mission Huskies (1-2)
- Close win over Valleyview was impressive. Move up from here. Had Kalamalka this week, not sure if another game has been scheduled.

14. (11) Valleyview Vikings (0-2)
- Close loss to OKM, players ejected and suspended. Need to regroup for a big league game vs Fulton (minus the suspended players of course).

15. (15) Moscrop Panthers (1-2)
- Sloppy game by Howe Sound, still managed the easy victory. Huge league game vs Ballenas with possibly #2 on the line.

16. (13) Seaquam Seahawks (1-1)
- Had the week off to prepare for AAA North Delta. Should be a good test before regular season.

17. (14) Sentinel Spartans (0-1)
- Hung in close to Ballenas in loss, could upset a few teams on route to the playoffs. AAA West Van next, expecting a big loss in this one.

18. (19) Gulf Islands Scorpions (1-0)
- Win over Nanaimo is a little surprising. Won't be the same result vs #1 Windsor. Bonus if they can stay close.

19. (16) Nanaimo District Islanders (1-2)
- Lost a close game to Gulf Islands, Nanaimo too inconsistent to be a playoff team right now. AAA Cowichan will be a tough test.

20. (20) North Surrey Spartans (0-3)
- Scored a TD finally vs Hurt. TDs will be hard to come by again vs Mission.

21. (22) Mark Isfield Ice (0-3)
- Whipped by LT, top 10 Vanier will do the same.

22. (23) Howe Sound Sounders (0-1)
- Loss to Moscrop was expected. Too one dimensional and lack of organization. #2 LT will pummel them.

23. (24) Aldergrove Totems (0-1)
- TKO'd by top 10 team Mission. No more preseason games, probably for the best.

24. (25) Quesnel/Correlieu Cougars (0-0)
- Can we join Single A ball?? Actually moves up with Kalamalka folding.

25. (18) Kalamalka (0-0)
- Team has folded, not enough numbers. Some players have transfered to Fulton.

26. (25) Norkam Saints (0-0)
- Pundits were right, Norkam folds

Westsyde moves up because Valleyview lost to OKM.

I can understand that a bit. I am just surprised to see them move up 5 spots after getting smoked. I would say logic says that Fulton is #1 in Okanagan, Then OKM, Then Westsyde, then Valleyview. Fulton dominated their game, OKM did beat your previous #1 in the conference. However, with that being said, this is a riot, just having these rankings to browse and have fun with. I think the end result will see the best 5 teams being Windsor, Sands, Lord Tweeds, Mission, Fulton

Sentinel probably should be rated higher since they lost to Ballenas in a very close one. There is something to say about "tradition".

Sentinel is on the bubble. Bubble of the decent teams (Seaquam and above) and the really bad teams (Gulf Islands and below). West Van game won't tell much...
