Sands Scorpions vs Hugh Boyd Trojans

Fri, Oct. 7 at 3:45, Hugh Boyd, Richmond

The Fanatic spread line:

Sands-14 at HB+14 O/U 49

#3 Sands (4-1) faces a tough test in #7 Hugh Boyd (2-3) in a big conference matchup. Scorpions have arguably the best defense in all of AA. The key to the win for the Scorpions will be if their corners can shutdown the Boyd receivers and if the D-Line can pressure QB Joe Bouchard. Hugh Boyd can't stop Sands Offense, I expect the Scorpions to pick up at least 3 TDs.

How would this game stack up if Sands were playing Hugh Boyd with Sands Football Players? Why don't we call em the Sands Travelling Wibburies or something?

What a joke that they are credited with being a HS Football team as obviously this is not a game that matches a neighborhood against a neighborhood but rather unscrupulous recruiting vs a program with integrity.

Boyd has nothing to lose in this game.

I understand that your period comes at this time of the month but really, way to beat a dead horse. Get a goddamn, life.

Ah yes, with postings of each week's matchup by BCSportsFanatic you can virtually start the stop watch as to when someone will complain about Sands. At first I just found it amusing. Then after months of reading posts from those who appear to want to have all affiliates of Sands thrown into jail, I have now become envious of these people.

Why am I envious? Let me explain.

There are so many things to get stressed about in life, such as high gas prices, paying bills, problems at work, problems with relationships, and so on and so forth. I find the idea that Sands may have players that have crossed school boundaries to play for them similar to many schools of the past and present pretty far down on my list of things to let bother me. Therefore, I am only left to assume that the people that constantly complain about Sands do so because they have few other factors in their life to be stressed out about. I only wish my life was so easy that I could spend my time complaining about Sands. So in that regard, I am incredibily envious. Unfortunately, I have other things to worry about and cannot afford to get stressed out about Sands.

Furthermore, if were a coach or player at Sands I would be highly entertained at the fact that they have caused some (or maybe just a few) people such an amount of high stress.

However, this is not a call to stop the complaining about Sands. By all means, please continue. It provides with me with both entertainment and a window into the lives of those who live with such a little amount of stress. So in a way, I should be thanking you.

In an idealized world, high school football would be a battle of the schools that represent each neighbourhood. However, only a minority of highschools in BC have highschool football. So those who live in areas without highschool football should be given the same oppurtunity and experience. Giving kids this oppurtunity may mean not always following the letter of the law as dictated by BCSS.

I guess in another way it is sad that some people would rather see a kid not get the oppurtunity to play highschool football if it means that another team will benefit. Sure there is community ball, but highschool football offers an experience that community just cannot replicate.

After all that...they still break the rules/the spirit of the rules and that is that. Justify it any way you want...they cheated.

Maybe you can tell us all why it is ok to steal and break other laws when it is individually or socially convenient?

    Would love to hear that.

Thats fine that kids have gone to Sands to play.

It is not fine when they lie about where they live.

It is not fine when the Coaches have recruiting parties.

It is not fine when the Coaches circulate phone calls to players from community ranks and outwardly recruit.

Go for it if it is done within the bounds of the rules.

String Coach U and his staff and the kids who cheated by their Gonads for cheating.
