AAA Game of the Week
Sat, Sep. 3 1:30P at St. Thomas More (STM), Burnaby
VC-7 at STM+7 Over/Under 35
Final Score 36-0 for VC. O/U was just about perfect. VC holds my #1 ranking, STM is probably dropping, don't know where yet.
Rumor Mill: STM lost 2 great starting D-Line and one starting O-Line to minor injuries this week.
I love this matchup. 2 great football "franchises" going at it. VC is ranked #1 so far (BCSportsFanatic ranking, The Province ranks VC #2) and STM is #4. If STM wins, should they be considered #2 or even #1?? Quite possibly. The importance of this game is even greater considering that these 2 teams could face each other in the playoffs, yet again. Unfortunately, this game happens at the same time as the Kickoff Classic so there won't be as big a crowd as there would normally be for a game of this magnitude.
VC Offense: Deadly, RB Tapia and WR Henderson/Oliver should have big games. Only question is at the pivot, can rookie QB Martinka handle full speed AAA Varsity?? We're about to find out
STM Defense: Great defense, solid linebacking core with Singh and Pratrap. Captain Tuason is a monster.
STM Offense: Balanced, RB Singh on the ground, QB Schletgen in the air. Not entirely sold on Singh to avg 100+/game
VC Defense: Whoa Nelly they're big. And deep too. The D-line that is, O-line too. Captain Malabuyoc leads the way at Linebacker

im calling BS on STMers being hurt, you all seem to forget that this is STM v. VC, the biggest game of the year. hurt or not all of em will be dressed and ready to go.
